Committee for Information/Education

The Information and Education Committee is delighted to announce the release of the first issue of our newsletter, Amigos y Vecinos that you will be able to find in many locations in Bucerias as well as in this web site in the Newsletter page.

Future projects for the committee include an Emergency Services Brochure for Bucerias and a contest in local schools to create a logo for Amigos de Bucerias.

Committee Report for Jan 5th, 2007

Susan Rowe presented the report. Highlights include: the committee has several new members who are helping with writing, editing and translating content for the newsletter. The newsletter is currently posted on the website and is distributed by e-mail to 350 individuals; 500 “hard copies” are placed throughout the town, at least one local real estate company sends it out to prospective clients and it is available through a link to the Bucerias website….so we currently have fairly wide distribution. The business card program supports the costs of publication; Susan appeals for more help to contact additional businesses, especially during the summer months when so few members are around. Past President, Harold Sokolove suggests a listing of where in town to find the hard copies.

Judi Conrad thanked Susan for her immense contributions to this work. Barry Munro moved, Judy Snow seconded and the membership approved the I.P. committee report.
