Committee for Language-
Update: The Academia has recently been renamed the Bucerias Bilingual Cultural Center (BBCC)
With the opening of the Academia Bilingüe, the Amigos of Bucerias Committee for Language will no longer be a
functioning committee as of Amigos of Bucerias civil organization.
However a representative from Amigos de Bucerias will, along with other community service organizations,
be a part of the advisory committee for the Academia Bilingüe. Our representative to this committee is
Dorothy Simpson and our standby is Susan Rowe.
The original goals of the language committee were as follows:

To facilitate English language acquisition among Mexican Nationals and Spanish language acquisition
among both itinerant and full time Anglo residents of Bucerias.

To promote interaction between the Mexican Nationals and Anglos by providing a venue for community
education and recreation that encourages bilingual/bicultural exchange.

To provide meeting space and lecture opportunities for social service organizations when the language
and other education programs permit.
We are very pleased to conclude that all of the above goals are being fulfilled beyond our greatest expectations with
the opening of the Academia Bilingüe, thanks in large part to the work and generosity of Judi Conrad.
The Language Academy is on Calle 16 de Septiembre, three houses south of Matamoros street on the east side of the highway.
Matamoros is the east/west street immediately north of Carnes del Mundo.
Comité por Idioma-
Con la apertura de la Academia Bilingüe, el Amigos de Comité de Bucerias para el Idioma ya no será un comité funcionando
a partir de Amigos de Bucerias la organización civil.
Sin embargo un representante de Amigos de Bucerias, junto con otras organizaciones de servicio de comunidad, será una parte
del comité asesor para la Academia Bilingüe. Nuestro representante a este comité es Dorothy Simpson y nuestro suplente es Susan Rowe.
Las metas originales del comité del idioma eran como sigue:

Para facilitar la adquisición del idioma inglesa para los Nacional mexicanos y español idioma adquisición para los de visites
transitorio y residentes Anglo de Bucerias.

Para promover la interacción entre los Nacional mexicanos y Anglos por manteniendo un sitio de la comunidad y por educación
de recreación que animan el intercambio del bilingüe/bicultural.

Para mantener espacio para reunión y oportunidades para la conferencia las organizaciones de servicio sociales cuando el
idioma y otra educación programa permiten.
Nosotros estamos muy contentos concluir que todas las metas anteriores están cumpliéndose más allá de nuestras más grandes expectativas
con la apertura de la Academia Bilingüe, gracias principalmente al trabajo y generosidad de Judi Conrad.
La Academia Bilingüe está en Calle 16 de Septiembre, sur de tres casas de la calle Matamoros en el lado del este de la carretera.
Matamoros es la calle inmediatamente norte del Carnes del Mundo.
