Committee for Membership

How to Join Amigos de Bucerias

If you would like to join Amigos de Bucerias, please fill out the attached Membership Information Form and contact Harold Sokolove, harold.sokolove@gmail.com  to receive your membership card. Suggested annual contribution is 300 Pesos; this is a family membership.

When you receive your membership card, you will be able to use it at various Bucerias establishments to receive a discount or perhaps a cup of coffee (click the Discounts).

Amigos de Bucerias meetings are held every month on the first Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m. Jalisco time. See Meetings for details.

The Membership Committee maintains address records of members, of people interested in Amigos de Bucerias, yearly donation records, committee member lists, membership promotion participants, and works to enlist new members in the organization. An important element of this committee is to keep members advised of what is happening within the organization, when future meetings are being held, and what will be discussed.

We are in need of volunteers to do this work. Please contact Harold Sokolove, harold.sokolove@gmail.com  if you are interested. This is a way to become genuinely involved in Amigos de Bucerias.

Membership Committee Report Jan 5, 2007

Curt Firestone reports there are currently 28 memberships, representing approximately 50 individuals (a membership represents one or two individuals within a family).  This compares to 43 memberships for 2006. Any members who have not yet renewed for 2007 are asked to please do so ASAP; our membership goal for 2007 is 100 members. In an effort to “grow” our membership of Mexican nationals, he asks that each Amigos member also submit the name and contact information of at least one Mexican national to the Membership committee. Committee members will then contact these individuals to explain the organization’s goals and benefit to the community, and encourage them to become members.

The English version of the Amigo’s informational brochure has been completed and the Spanish version is currently being translated. These brochures are primarily being used as an informational tool for prospective new members. Judi Conrad offered to help distribute the Spanish language brochures as soon as these are available.

Barry Munro moved,  Judi Conrad  seconded, and the membership approved the committee’s report.
